The Festival’s volunteers are at the core of the event’s success. The strength and inspiration of the Festival community is shown through the huge volunteer commitment put in each year.
WHO ARE THE FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS?
The Festival attracts over 200 volunteers who dedicate their time, knowledge, energy and enthusiasm during the Festival. They provide enthusiasm, creativity and passion to bring event to life. Full of enthusiasm and support, volunteers work tirelessly to set up, engage and foster a great feeling during the whole Festival .
In return for their time and enthusiasm, Festival volunteers walk away with new experiences, new contacts and friends and a new understanding about sustainable living. The Festival has a wide array of volunteer opportunities available in order to take part in this great annual event.

Sustainability Marketplace Assistant
We are seeking a Marketplace Assistant (Volunteer) with the skills and passion for advertising and sales to join our team. The aim of this role is to maintain and acquire new enterprises, businesses and organisations active in the sustainability marketplace for this annual event. The Marketplace Assistant will assist the Festival Director in increasing and managing advertising sales; managing relationships; and researching new customers. Minimum time commitment is 1 day a week.
Program & Production Team Members
We are seeking volunteers to help research cutting edge program content and identify sustainability events for inclusion in next years program. Volunteers will assist in curating specific events and the creative delivery of selected Festival program content. The programming team review event applications and liaise with event organisers to help shape Festival events. This role will also work with the Festival’s Communications Team to develop event media opportunities and promotions. Minimum time commitment is 1 day a week.
We are looking for someone to help search out new Festival Partners who can benefit from the Festival’s promotional exposure. The role involves seeking out leading edge organisations and innovative individuals. Activities include securing and servicing funding partners; assist in providing benefits to Festival Partners as set out in the partnership agreements; engages Festival Partners through various communications that leverage the partnerships; coordinates in-kind contributions; and assists in delivering benefits aligned with key Festival programs. Minimum time commitment is 1 day a week.
Media & Communications Assistant
We are seeking a Media & Communications Assistant with the skills and a passion for promotions and media to join our team. The aim of this role is to maximise the traditional media, social media and publicity opportunities for this annual event. Activities include identifying media and publicity opportunities; managing media relationships; assist in creating media releases; gather material for website and social media updates; working closely with the Program and Partnership teams to best promote events and partners.
