Where and when is the Great Local Lunch?
The Great Local Lunch is a feature event of the National Sustainable Living Festival’s 20th Anniversary Big Weekend and will be held on the banks of the Yarra River at Birrarung Marr on Sunday 10th February 2019 from 12:00PM – 2:30PM.
When can I apply?
Grower and Gleaner registrations are open until January 25 2019, but you can still enter to win one of ten free double passes that the Festival is giving away on Facebook or Instagram until January 31 2019.
How do I get tickets?
Easy! Submit a registration form through online the SLF website. Registering to contribute your harvest to the Lunch puts you in the running to win two tickets to the event. We aim to invite everyone who has offered up their harvest, but tickets are limited and cannot be guaranteed for every entrant. What criteria are used to choose contributors?
Early entrants are given priority. If more Growers and Gleaners register than there are tickets available, entries will be assessed based on the strength of their contribution to the Lunch – this can relate to amount, diversity of ingredients, and/or story behind your harvest.
Are their costs associated with registering?
Nope! The Great Local Lunch is a free event brought to life by the contributions of you Growers and Gleaners. The National Sustainable Living Festival runs on support from the community and volunteers, public donations, grants and sponsorships to produce the event each year. Donations can be made here.
When will I receive confirmation about my entry?
Chosen contributors will be notified by Friday 1st February 2019 and asked to RSVP, confirming their attendance and choosing their produce drop-off session, by Monday 4th February 2019. Then, you’ll receive your Great Local Lunch tickets when you drop off your harvest!
What if I have dietary restrictions?
The Great Local Lunch is a mostly vegan and completely vegetarian feast. If you are chosen as a contributor, your RSVP form will have a space to notify the GLL chefs of any restrictions or allergies.
