Description
The education outreach program, Cycle for Sustainability, has so far run two programs. The first in 2005 travelling from Brisbane to Hobart over 5 months, and the second in 2006 travelling from Sydney to Hobart over 4 ½ months. In total we have reached out to over 60 schools. We have performed the skit ‘An Hour of Choices’ to over 7000 students (plus countless other parents and teachers attending other presentations we performed).

An hour of Choices represents the hour between when we wake up and when we go to school or work and the choices that we can make during this time to live more sustainably. The main issues addressed are water and land use, local and organic food choices, energy production, sustainable transport and fair trade. We have also conducted many workshops with school students. These workshops have included topics on Ecological Footprint, Fairwear, Climate Change and Forest Ecosystems. We have travelled almost 8000km on pedal-powered transport. The team has come from varied backgrounds including doctors, recent university graduates, engineers, teachers and environmental campaigners. end
