Hear Freya, Gabrielle and Margaret's insights into the negative impacts of travel, and then dig deep and reflect on your own motives for travel. Our presenters spell out the need for sustainable travel principles and provide a number of options to make your travel more sustainable.

Freya is a lecturer in tourism at the University of South Australia and recently completed a PhD on 'Tourism, Globalisation and the Responsible Alternative'. She co-founded Australia's first Peace through Tourism course at the University of Sydney. Gabrielle has an MBA (Macq), a BA (UNSW) and is currently a PhD candidate at Southern Cross University where she is investigating the experiences of an Aboriginal Corporation as they undertake the process of investigating and developing sustainable community enterprise options including tourism. Margaret has been involved in the sustainable tourism movement for fifteen years. In her role with the Community Aid Abroad Tours Unit she worked with indigenous communities and NGOs in Australia and overseas, to develop a more responsible model of tourism. Margaret was one of the founding members of the Responsible Tourism Network.
