The individual acts which make up a sustainable life (reduce, reuse, recycle) can't be sustained unless they are part of a culture of sustainability, popular songs, images, ways of talking, and stories which all reinforce a sustainable world view. Our work at Sense of Place Productions is to create these cultural forms. The act Breathe Easy contains raps, and catchy choruses about the local indigenous 6 seasons calander, a journey up the Yarra, and a future vision for Melbourne. The words 'sustainability - you are part of it' contain the solution to the sustainability puzzle. If every individual realises in every moment that they are an embedded, and interconnected part of the greater whole, sustainable behaviour would flow naturally. Our performances and workshops promote this way of experiencing our place in the world.
