The broad themes running through my work are the human search for meaning and fulfillment in life, and sustainability is central to this search: we need sustainable communities, sustainable ecosystems, sustainable economic practices and sustainable personal relationships in order to live meaningful, fulfilling lives while allowing others to do the same. In my songs I use characters and situations, both real and imagined, to explore themes such as our essential dependence on the natural environment for our physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.
