Ariana Electric Vehicles

The Aryana IEV 800 (Intelligent Electric Vehicle) prototype will be on display at the Festival. This electric vehicle is ready for manufacture locally but still has a number of hurdles to overcome before it will be available to the public.

Aryana IEV 800
The car has a top speed of 160 km/h and a range of 250 to 300 kilometres on a single battery charge. This car can accelerate to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and can be recharged to 85% in 6 minutes with a charging station.

Australian designed electric car set to be moved off shore
The inventor of the intelligent electric vehicle, ‘Ariana’ is set to pack up and move to Europe in a bid to get his latest electric car design into full production.

Jim Arian was invited several years ago by the Australian government to develop a fully electric vehicle for the Australian market. He came to Australia after refusing offers from America and England and has spent the last four years designing and developing new innovative technologies for the electric car market.

Arian has now successfully designed and developed a full working prototype of a car that can travel at 160km per hour and takes only six minutes to charge to 85% with a charging station. This car is ready to be mass produced in Australia yet there are no standards for electric vehicles here and the government now has a great opportunity to support the economy and the environment by initialising a trial program.

Arian is now leaving this Friday to go to England where the government there has said they would be happy to develop the product and it is likely the car will be in production within the next six months. This means that yet again Australia misses out on a potential burgeoning industry that would contribute greatly to GDP and provide employment to many people in a sector (the motor industry) that has been slowly suffocated by cheap imports. We have seen many local manufacturing plants close in recent years and now there is an opportunity to open a new one with the assistance of the government.

This vehicle would cost the owner just over $100 per year in fuel and can drive between 250 - 300 kms on one charge and is priced very competitively. Electric powered transport provides zero emissions at the tailpipe and has the capability to use renewable energy resources to provide low emission and quiet private transport. Passenger vehicles account for over 75% of the total distance travelled by road vehicles. Motor vehicles are the major contributor to oil consumption in our oil importing nation and with major climate change problems to deal with surely the move to electric vehicles is one of the many necessary steps in the interest of Australians.

Recently the Aryana iEV 796 was taken on a test drive from Port Melbourne to Ballarat and returned on one single change. This car could be part of the solution to not only oil dependency and consumer dissatisfaction, but it could also be a great opportunity for the Australian manufacturing industry to locally tackle the problems.
