Shauny likes to do it in the garden

He:
- plants local native plants that use less water, and feed the birds, butterflies and frogs
- grows some vegetables, fruits and herbs to swap with neighbours
- waters the garden using grey water
- creates a compost area and worm farm for food scraps to put on the vegie garden

fact
As much as half the average australian household water use is spent on the garden - that’s about 123,000 litres per household per year.

"I am working hard at doing it - recycling food scraps and packaging, saving and collecting water, buying green power, growing organic food and lessening my energy use. I have also set up a blog to record this journey and other people’s as well. Check it out http://www.greenfoot.com.au
