Official Festival Opening
Join us to celebrate the Official Opening of the 2009 Sustainable Living Festival.
The Festival will be opened with a Welcome to Country, celebrating and acknowledging the original stewards of this land.
Dignitaries from the City of Melbourne will have the opportunity to officially launch the Festival, followed by the launch of the book 'Written in the Land, the life of Queenie McKenzie' with accompanying music by Paul Kelly.

The Official Opening features a book launch of the book 'Written in the land, the life of Queenie McKenzie' – an initiation of Warmun Aboriginal Community W.A.
Paul Kelly will launch the book with the song ‘The Ballad of Queenie and Rover’ that is based on a story told in the book in Queenie’s own words.
Author Jennifer Joi Field will also host a workshop on Sunday at the Festival about the ways communities can create sustainable futures from this type of cultural mapping project and the associated software.
