Monica Weightman
Originally from North Queensland, Monica is a talented singer/songwriter now based in Melbourne. Known for her gifted guitar work she has developed her own unique, warm vocal style which has seen her in demand at music and arts festivals around Australia.
Monica has worked on a wide range of projects in the last five years. Monica performed and sang in BURNIN EMBERS and WALKABOUT. She has taught Indigenous inmates at HM Barwon prison and her songs have appeared on a number of video projects.
Monica has also worked as Music Programs Director at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre and mentored many young Indigenous musicians.
In 2006 Monica released the acclaimed CD LOST GENERATION. She is a regular performer with Richard Frankland in the CHARCOAL CLUB.
