Using Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” slideshow as its basis, this presentation looks at the causes and effects of rising CO2 emissions on our planet’s fragile climate. Simple to understand and clear examples demonstrate the current scientific understanding of climate change today and where we might end up if we do nothing. By focusing on the sort of actions individuals can take, this presentation highlights what we can all do right now to reduce emissions and safeguard our future. This is the time to make change, because if we leave it for another generation it will be too late.
Tim Sansom
Having grown up with a passion for nature inspired by many family camping trips, Tim went on to study Environmental Resource Management. After completing this study he went travelling through South East Asia, The Middle East and India, working for a time in the UK where his interest in gardening began. Upon returning to Australia he returned to study completing a Graduate Diploma in Horticulture. This lead to a career based around the idea of living lightly on the planet through gardening. The natural link between gardening and the broader environment was Permaculture. Tim worked in Bendigo at the Gravel Hill Community Permaculture Gardens for 3 years before joining the Digger’s Club – Australia’s largest garden club. Tim believes that by growing sustainable, productive and ornamental gardens, we can all do our bit to reduce our impacts on an embattled planet.
