Francesca Mountfort is a Melbourne based musician, teacher and performer. She currently plays cello for “The Rise and Demise”, “Defend the Melody”, and is persuing her solo project titled “Nervous Doll Dancing”. Francesca released her debut album in 2004, and is soon to be releasing her second solo album titled “Aphelion”. She has performed “Nervous Doll Dancing” at Apollo Bay Music Festival, Electundra Fest, Darebin Music Feast and Melbourne Fringe Festival. A new addition to this project is the incorporation of a live, projected puppet show, that is used as a visual accompaniment to the music of “Nervous Doll Dancing”. “The Rise and Demise” are soon to be releasing their debut album, and have played support for My Latest Novel (Scotland) at the Corner, Fionn Reagan (Ireland) Sydney & Melbourne, Kristen Hersh (USA), the Corner and the Palais, the Brunettes and Dimmer at East Brunswick. A successful tour of New Zealand was also a highlight of 2007 playing the indie music festival Camp A LOW HUM and performances in Auckland and Wellington.
