Bizerka are a Melbourne's freshest and most dynamic band playing the music of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Spanning countries such as Moldavia, Romania, Serbia, Armenia and Greece with a few originals thrown in for good measure, their high-energy interpretations of traditional music gets everyone up and dancing. Combine this with on-stage antics and tall stories and you have an excellent evening of entertainment. Bizerka play in a flagrantly quasi-traditional style, with gusto -- the band aims to bring relatively unknown tunes to a wider audience in a fun way which still does justice to the cultures they're borrowed from.
