Sam Burke released her self-titled debut album Sam Burke and the Wifeys in April 2007, distributed through Australian folk label, Black Market Music. In its week of release, the album was hailed by Melbourne's PBS FM as 'Album of the Week' and has gone on to receive extensive airplay on ABC and community stations around the country. Sam is fast developing a reputation as one of the young rising starts on the folk scene, touring nationally and performing at a string of festivals including the Woodford Folk Festival and a recent headline at the Whare Flat Festival in New Zealand. 2008 sees further tours to the US, Canada and Europe and a new album in the wings.
