During a laughter session in a group you learn to laugh without a reason to gain the positive effects on your body and mind. You start with deep breathes and the Ho-Ho Ha-Ha-Ha clapping activity, followed by a variety of simulated laughter such as the hearty laugh, silent laugh, one metre laugh, the lion laugh and the telephone laugh, which when shared with a smile and lots of eye contact, stimulates you to the real thing. You gain the techniques for thought free laughter based on yoga where anyone can learn to laugh for 15-20 minutes a day without resorting to jokes.

Phillipa Challis is the co-founder of Laughter Clubs Victoria Inc, and together with other community laughter club leaders presents laughter sessions based on yoga techniques for thought-free group laughter for people who want to practise an easy economical way to enjoy many positive health benefits, are stressed out and want to add more laughter to their life; and demonstrates stimulated laughter techniques to enable you to function with high energy.
