Marble
This figure restates the classically male Greek heroic prerequisites of sport - strength, determination, and perseverance - in female form. Ancient marble statues of Olympian sporting legends capture dynamic moments for all time that are often associated with the glorification of male sporting achievement. In direct contrast, the stillness of this female figure radiates ancient internalized power - the sustaining power of balance , stability and deep strength - that has created it's own induring history.

Faustas Sadauskas
Faustas Sadauskas is a leading exponent of contemporary sculpture . Sadauskas works with self quarried Australian marble from disused Quarries. This is indicative of his work ethic, which blends respect for classical sculpting traditions, materials and methods, whilst engaging with contemporary concerns. He has lectured, published and travelled extensively, has exhibited widely throughout Australia and overseas and has completed a number of major private and corporate art commissions. His work is represented in public and private collections here and overseas and by the Gallery Kazari.
