The Sustainable Living Festival is expanding its program to encompass a wide range of satellite events to help communities promote local action for sustainability.

Festival Satellite Event Selection Criteria

Satellite Events that build community capacity for sustainability
> Events that teach people new skills and develop knowledge for hands-on sustainable living action. (eg. gardening, bike repair workshop, clothes making, cooking....)

Satellite Events that deliver a community asset for sustainability
> Events that create public place infrastructure that support sustainable communities (eg. building of an EcoCentre or new bike path)
> Events that create community services that support sustainability (eg. clothing exchange, food markets, swap meets)
> Events that restore or repair ecological or social systems (re-vegetation working bees, beach or park clean ups)

Satellite Events that engage communities in creative arts and cultural activities
>Creative industries, arts, performance, music and talks.
