Matthew Wright and Mark Ogge will provide an overview of the policies necessary for Australia to shift to renewable energy within 10 years in line with the Al Gore challenge to Re-power America. They will look at policy and technology solutions over the various sectors of the economy. This is an enormous challenge, but it is both necessary and achievable - here's how.

Matthew Wright is climate educator and campaigner for Climate Positive, and lead campaigner for Beyond Zero Emissions.
Mark Ogge is co-ordinator and campaigner for Beyond Zero Emissions.
Beyond Zero Emissions is a volunteer run climate change advocacy group. Their focus is on scientifically based technology and policy solutions. Their radio program - Beyond Zero (3CR 8.30 am Fridays), and monthly discussion groups (first Monday of month at 6.30pm at Kindness House in Fitzroy), attract world leading experts in climate science and solutions. They also conduct research into policies to tackle climate change, including their current project Zero Carbon Australia 2020, aimed at developing an outline for decarbonising the Australian economy by 2020.
