2 steel boats stranded, harbour fragile plant life, that, unless carefully tended, will perish. What do they say about sport? Endeavour, determination, perseverance, imagination and achievement are attributes that are essential in the success of both the sporting enterprise and of human exploration and settlement. Can a value system based on these 'attributes' of human endeavour that has created the depletion of ecosystems have an equal potential to reverse the damage and become a chance for hope?
Julie Collins and Derek John
Julie Collins & Derek John have been collaborating on sculptural projects for 6 years. They have exhibited in over 70 exhibitions, won numerous awards and are represented in several major collections. Collins was a founding member and Chair (5 years) of the Contemporary Sculptors Association Inc (CSA). The CSA developed and manages Yarra Sculpture Gallery in Abbotsford.
