Public perception of sport and art is largely defined by winners. A powerful commercial superstructure promotes competition and supports winners both in the arts and sport. 'Fame' celebrates the countless others - those passionate stubborn losers, who will not succumb. This small architectural model of their working space alludes to the determination to prop up a dedicated but precarious existence by any means whatsoever.
Karin Neumann-Murphy
Karin Neumann-Murphy holds an MA in Fine Art, an MA in Museum Studies and Cultural Policy and is a registered Art Valuer and Consultant. She has shown her work consistently and has lectured at Monash University, Gippsland. She has been Curator and Coordinator of the Create theme of the Sustainable Living Festival since 2005.
