In addition to the consumption of energy through lighting and sound equipment of the stage, there are also other facets that affect the local environment to consider. Light and noise pollution should be taken into consideration when deciding where to situate any stages at an event to balance the purpose and effectiveness of the stage within the event and minimizing the impact it has on the local environment - particularly event sites situated in built-up residential areas.
