Have your absolutely favourite jeans developed a hole? Have you seen visibly repaired jeans and are keen to learn more? Join Renee and learn simple techniques to create striking repairs on your favourite denim.

With clothing being discarded at an increasing rate, solutions to love and wear our clothes for longer have never been more important. This workshop will teach practical skills to repair and personalise denim and is a great stepping stone to more advanced clothing repair techniques.

This 2-hour workshop is suitable for all levels, including beginners. Participants will learn several hand-stitches, patching techniques, and visible mending know-how. Students will practice their stitches and techniques on a sampler to gain confidence before planning their own denim repairs.

Renee Williams is a clothing repair advocate and mending enthusiast. She’s on a mission to help us keep our clothes looking fabulous and out of landfill. Renee is a creative with more than 10 years of experience and is based in Geelong, Victoria. She teaches clothing repair skills both in-person and online. She also advocates for a greater understanding of the impact of fast fashion on our environment. Renee has learned how a mending practice can help us to connect with our belongings and to appreciate the resources, time, and energy that go into creating our clothes. It is this understanding that can help put the importance of clothing repair into perspective. This is her mission.
