Learn to identify examples of edible plants & trees bearing fruit, and understand the physical features you can use to correctly identify useful plants even when they’re dormant.
There will be an opportunity to discuss the types of locations where participants can hunt for wild edibles in the future, and pick up tips on how to safely prepare and enjoy eating many of the foods that are found.
The session fee includes a full-colour learning pack, a tasty foraged-food picnic, and a follow-up list of resources to help with further learning.
The Urban Nanna’s aim is to educate, empower and inspire participants to connect more meaningfully with Country and with their food in a way that encourages them to take an active role in caring for their local environment.

‘Nanna’ Anna is a former primary school teacher with a horticultural background and founder of The Urban Nanna. Through articles, workshops, in-home consultations, 1-on-1 coaching sessions, and media avenues, she shares traditional knowledge, methods, and skills with people around the world much like grandmas used to do with their children and grandchildren. Firmly steeped in the ethos of permaculture, The Urban Nanna showcases how it is possible to be a sustainable permie even while living in the unpredictable rental market of suburban Australia.
