Yes, that’s right we have skilled volunteers who will repair your stuff for free.

A Repair Café is a pop-up event where people gather to work on repairing objects of everyday life such as electrical and mechanical devices, computers, bicycles, clothing, and other items.

This event is a pilot program for the Docklands Repair Cafe, which is being supported by the established St. Kilda Repair Cafe … so come along and support this new initiative.

Bring along anything that you can carry that is in need of repair. The Repair Cafe will have experienced volunteers who will do their best to keep your item alive. Bring along items such as: electronics, electrical, wood, metal, sewing, jewellery, bikes, toys … in fact just about anything you can think of.

You can be part of the solution by stopping things from going to landfill and avoiding waste from the unnecessary purchasing of new products by getting what you have repaired.

If you are a repairer and would like to support this event, or future repair sessions, contact Jason

Be part of the live broadcast

Costa Georgiadis, the host of Gardening Australia, will be attending the Repair Cafe. There he will be holding a live broadcast, interviewing the repairers, and those who have had items repaired. We’ll also be discussing the right to repair movement.

And if you have a copy of his recently released book Costa’s World: Gardening for the Soul, the Soil and the Suburbs, bring it along as there will also be an opportunity to have it signed by the author.

Note: There will be no books for sale at this event. Books will be available here.
