Would you like to attract more bees, birds, lizards, butterflies, and other creatures to your garden?
With increased urbanisation comes a decrease in natural habitat and fragmentation of plant and animal communities. By increasing habitat in our residential gardens, local communities can create important stepping-stones for wildlife to thrive and move through our neighbourhoods.
Come and join this presentation about habitat gardening and the key elements that will help attract more local wildlife. This talk will be about basic garden design elements and highlight some of Kingston’s beautiful indigenous plants.
Jimena Acevedo is the Gardens for Wildlife Officer at the City of Kingston. Jimena offers free garden assessments to Kingston residents and provides customised advice on how to increase habitat and attract native fauna to their garden.
