What we do in our gardens, how we approach an issue, or often when we ignore it, can create problems in our gardens.
This session will address the ‘hard work’ cycle, how to practice garden safety and how to manage pests and diseases, including weed management and compost hygiene.

Teresa Day is the Learning and Training Manager at Sustainable Gardening Australia with extensive experience across sustainable design, community development, and environmental education. Teresa is an avid home gardener, chicken keeper, and forager, and is keen to show how sustainable choices and lifestyle changes can be implemented by everyone. Website
SUNBURY COMMUNITY GARDEN
The Sunbury Community Garden, also known as the Goonawarra Community Garden, is one of Hume City Council’s four community gardens. The garden has eighteen individual plots along with communal plots. There is also an orchard with approximately 50 fruit trees with some heritage varieties. Website
