FIRE presents a stunning collection of deeply evocative, powerful, and disturbing works. The artists explore the ravages of fire on local ecosystems, landscapes, and their personal lives. Much of the work has been created in direct response to horrifying Summer of 2019-2020 bushfires that climate scientists have been warning of for decades. The works are a raw depiction of the physical manifestation of policy failure.
This event aims to harness the power of the arts to communicate the Climate Emergency in all its manifestations thus mobilising the public to demand immediate effective action; a transition to zero emissions while at the same time drawing down legacy carbon at emergency scale and speed, before 2030.
