Set in a grand, majestic theatre rich with colourful antiquity, historic jewel and a stunning performance stage, Eclectica Performance Art wishes to present a Fire Relief Concert for Climate Change, held on Friday the 28th of February.
Featuring a stellar line-up of major local artists, offering live and electronic music, performances, art, and spoken word, Eclectica will play host to talented creatives across the community as they unite to share one stage for Australia during its time of need.
For the past 3 months, Eclectica have been working passionately on a 20-minute stage show they had planned to showcase at Strawberry Fields and Rainbow Serpent Festival. Their performance follows the story of extraterrestrial beings that descend on to earth to help heal humanity and climate change.
After their performance at Strawberry got cancelled due to the floods, their performance at Rainbow got cancelled due to the fires, and the huge Earth installation they had created for the performance cracked and overheated, they decided that the irony of the whole situation called for a concert of their own, to raise funds for those affected.
Eclectica believes that a holistic response to fire relief and future protection of the earth is what the youth of Australia is calling for. As well as immediate fire relief, we value the long term needs of small communities, the knowledge of First Nations people, and the need for climate action.
100% of ticket profits through Eventbrite will go towards key organisations providing vital support for Australia during this time of need, as well as organisations that focus on long term solutions, education, and leadership for the fire and climate emergency in Australia.
The organisations we have chosen include:
– Wildlife Victoria, raising much-needed funds to help sick, injured and orphaned native animals in Victoria.
– Firesticks Alliance Indigenous Corporation (Firesticks) who deliver an Indigenous-led Cultural Fire program to support affected communities and countries.
– Emergency Leaders for Climate Action, who are taking action to tackle climate change.
– Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal who facilitate support for communities preparing and recovering from disasters.
The event will kick off at 6:30 PM with doors opening at 6. There will be both a raffle and live auction taking place, so if you would like to be a part of it, remember to bring cash on you. Our live auction will also accept bank transfer.
