Felicity Grabkowski’s solo exhibition is underscored by the question of what it means to ‘leave a mark’ in the Anthropocene.
Flecks of recycled studio and garden detritus interlace with painting media in layered works that convey a sense of flux. The exhibition displays the possibilities of contemporary painting; branching out to photography, digital drawing, scanography, and sculpture. The biomorphic works are coloured by an observation of ecological phenomena.
Felicity’s emotive mark-making is driven by a sense of disorientation as well as solastalgia, climate anxiety and other internalised sensory cues.
Opening night Friday 28 February – 10% of artwork sales to Greening Australia for bushfire recovery.
