The United African Farm Initiative connects African migrant communities at a farm in Cardinia. By sharing skills, knowledge, and culture from their own traditions with their new country through farming and food, the project fosters a sense of belonging and inclusion. The Farm aims to grow crops especially for African-Australian communities and work toward greater social cohesion.
This event will officially launch the United African Farm to the wider community. There will be lots of activities planned for the day including cultural dances, food feasts, harvesting, smoking ceremony, and many more. Book a ticket to enjoy the tale of people, culture, and food.
On the day:
BYO chairs, drink bottles, and keep cups for water refills and coffee/tea. No ATMs will be available onsite, so please bring cash if planning to purchase coffee, tea, or fundraising T-shirts on the day. Toilet facilities will be limited, so please plan ahead! The farm is on private property. Please be respectful of the landowner when parking or disposing of rubbish. This will be a COVIDSafe event and will reflect the current Victorian Government regulations at the time of the event.
