The Squeaky Wheel & CrowdSpot presents

Riding in Melbourne: Perceived Fear or Real Risk

Event Navigation

Melbourne is still striving to become a world class cycling city. Is our fear of riding holding us back or is it genuinely unsafe on the roads? A lack of safety is the major barrier to people getting on their bikes. How it feels to ride a bicycle has an impact on people’s willingness to ride. Our expert panel will lead a discussion on their views, the state of riding in Melbourne and what can be done to reduce people’s fears. This forum launches BikeSpot, a project aiming compare differences in perceived risk and crashes at locations across Melbourne.

Speakers include:
Pip Carroll (The Squeaky Wheel)
Jane Waldock (City of Yarra)
Alexander Sheko (GTA Consultants)
Anthony Aisenberg (CrowdSpot)
