The market is managed by Melbourne Farmers’ Markets (MFM), a social enterprise connecting Victorian farmers and food producers with seven urban neighbourhoods across Melbourne. MFM have been in the St Heliers Street neighbourhood since the 1990s and played a significant role in the fight to save the Abbotsford Convent precinct from development. MFM started Collingwood Children’s Farm Farmers’ Market in 2002 (every second Saturday) and now with markets at Abbotsford Convent (every fourth Saturday) and Carlton North Primary School (every first and third Saturday) marketgoers can enjoy a weekly circuit of accredited farmers’ markets in the City of Yarra.
Please note: The nature of working with farmers means that unforeseen events do occur from time to time which may prevent producers listed from attending the market. The stallholder list is updated on Thursday, prior to a market day.
