At the start of this new decade, we are faced with a choice: shift our thinking, values and lifestyles to support coexistence within this planet, or continue on the current path of destruction. However, this shift will not happen without addressing the extractive cultures that brought us to this point, whilst centring and amplifying Indigenous ways of relating to and caring for Country.
The 2020 National Sustainable Living Festival will begin where it should always have, by listening to First Nations voices and the knowledge systems that sustained thriving relationships with Country for tens of thousands of years.
Join us at MPavilion to kick off the Festival with a Welcome to Country, followed by a conversation led by Seed Mob and Pacific Climate Warriors Kulin Nation (Melbourne) representatives on solidarity within the environmental movement; community and grassroots mobilisation; engaging cultural practices and associated challenges; and a focus on Custodianship.
The evening will include entertainment and rescued-food refreshments by the Inconvenience Store, part of Lentil as Anything Thornbury.
