Welcome

We are a group of concerned consumers and professionals, striving to answer the following questions:

  • How can we decide which cleaning products are truly Environmentally Sustainable and Healthy?
  • How can we respect the health of this planet and all living creatures on it, while cleaning?
  • How can we, as consumers and practitioners, raise the bar?

Through various projects and collaborations, we aim to draw together the necessary information to address all of the aspects raised in these questions.

Low Salt Cleaning Challenge

This initial project was conducted by members of the SLF Cleaning Group, and supported by City West Water Community Support Program, Yarra Valley Water and South East Water.

This project raises awareness of the levels of sodium salts in household detergents, and shows how simple it is to help the environment by choosing products wisely and using them sparingly. It has also made us aware that even biodegradable and non-toxic ingredients can have detrimental effect on soil and plants, while helping us to easily identify and avoid brands that add high levels of sodium salts as fillers.
