Both the Arid Lands Environment Centre and Cool Communities are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through education of householders to reduce energy use. Cool Communities offers a membership to visitors of the Cool Living House that includes free home energy audits, workshops, incentives and more. In the last financial year members of Cool Communities in Alice Springs reduced their household emissions by more than 1 tonne per house.
