Blackburn Lake Environmental Education Park

Our community group is working on 3 exciting projects in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs that aim to protect our magnificent bushland and initiate genuinely sustainable urban redevelopment in our city..... 1."Habitat@McCubbin Walk" - located around 1 Lake Road, Blackburn Lake will save and regenerate some of Melbourne's most significant urban bushland. Using the latest multimedia technology visitors can take in the important cultural and environmental values of this landscape........and interact in a range of ways. 2. “NEO – Nunawading Emissions Offset - Pilot Project” based on redefing the Melbourne 2030 Activity Centre as a leading example of sustainable urban redevelopment. 3. "Sustainable Living Centre" located in the existing buildings at 131-169 Central Road, Nunawading adjoining Blackburn Lake Sanctuary. This project aims to protect some of Victoria's rarest 'Valley Heathy Forest" bushland and create a community facility for sustainable education to compliment the Blackburn Lake Sanctuary. These projects aim to bring together business and the community so that we can all learn about and promote more sustainable ways of living.
