Queenslanders can now nominate their eco projects and programs for the prestigious 2010 Premier’s ClimateSmart Sustainability Awards.

The Awards profile ‘green’ initiatives from community and business groups in Queensland which help reduce carbon footprints and show leadership in environmental excellence.

Winners of each category will be presented with a $5000 cash prize at the Awards Gala dinner to be held on Friday 4 June in Brisbane. 

The Premier’s ClimateSmart Sustainability Awards are a great opportunity to profile sustainability achievements and gain the ‘green marketing’ advantage that accompanies winning a major environmental award.

Entries should relate to projects or initiatives that are Queensland-based, and have the potential to be adopted or adapted by other organisations in the future.

If you are working with, or know of any individuals, communities, households or businesses, no matter how large or small, whose practices or facilities could make them eligible to nominate in an Award category, please encourage them to do so.

Entries close 26 March 2010.
