This workshop provides information and ideas on how shop greener! There are many ‘green’ products suitable for use in households. There is also a lot of ‘Green Wash’ out there, sometimes making it difficult for residents to know what products are actually more sustainable than others. This session will introduce the key concepts of Green Purchasing; show you how you can help your household can to purchase ‘greener’ through the use of a Green Purchasing checklist.

CERES Community Environment Park

CERES (the Centre for Education and Research in Environmental Strategies, pronounced ‘series’) is an internationally recognised model of a sustainable society located on 4.5 hectares (10 acres) on the banks of the Merri Creek, in East Brunswick.  It has been running education and sustainability programs for the past 25 years.  As an organization, CERES aims to foster awareness and action on environmental and social issues affecting urban areas.
