In 2010, we are very excited to announce the development of the first Eco Market style operation in South Melbourne. The tentatively named 'South Melbourne Commons' will become a new community hub that reconnects people back to a sense of place and belonging. The site will feature, a cafe, food cooperative, grocery store & deli with a weekly Saturday Eco Market operation starting later in the year. Under guidance from experienced trades people, we'll be cutting out internal walls, washing, filling gaps, painting, sweeping and getting the site ready for use. Everyone is welcome, but we would especially like people with trades skills and tools to contact us so we can be prepared. We are also looking to make contact with a skilled building engineer, architect and someone with a flair for interior design.
