The SP Ausnet Energy Innovation Festival (Wonthaggi) showcases innovative business products and services, plus community and student ideas and actions, to reduce our carbon footprint and save on energy, water and fuel costs.
Enquiries are welcomed from potential business, community or school participants.
Bass Coast is a growth area less than 2 hours from Melbourne, with a building boom including a sea-change and tree-change population showing increasing interest in responding to the demands of a climate-changed world.
The annual festival has organised activities, displays, workshops and tours on Friday 19th and Sat 20th March 2010, around the theme of Energy Innovation.
Entry is free. All welcome.
The Festival supports and runs alongside, the Wonthaggi Human Powered Grand Prix. Around 80 teams of enthusiasts race energy-efficient pedal-powered recumbent cycles round an exciting 1.4 km track in a 24 hour test of design, teamwork, fitness and endurance. The recumbents travel at up to 40 km per hour with thrills and spills aplenty, but with much less noise than the car race! (Midday Sat. 20th to midday Sun 21st March, 2010)
