Peats Ridge 2009 is three full days of festival fun. Over New Year the valley becomes a feast for the senses filled with music, arts and culture. Two hundred bands perform across ten stages, there’s a theatre, cabaret and comedy program, a children's festival and dozens of free workshops.
On the music side, Peats Ridge is an eclectic mix of emerging and established artists ranging from Acoustic, Folk, Indie and World to Dub, Roots, Hip Hop and Electronic with a sprinkling of Funk, Soul and Blues thrown in.
There is a fully curated theatre and arts program and two dedicated art venues where painting, performance and installation artists sit alongside a gallery, sculpture, new-media and cabaret performers. The Indigenous ‘Boardi’ space is an area run by and devoted to the culture of the local Darkinjung people.
The Festival also features workshops, a healing area, markets and an extensive selection of international food. Renowned for it’s child friendliness there is a fantastic children’s festival and family camping facilities.
Peats Ridge is also one of the most sustainable festivals on the planet and has won numerous national and international awards. The whole event runs entirely on renewable energy and there is an area devoted to eco-living education and extensive environmental initiatives, so you can party completely guilt free.
