The Eco Kids Festival is a sustainable education festival that offers workshops, displays, markets and entertainment teaching children how to leave a lighter footprint on the planet while having a lot of fun. The Eco Kids Festival is taking place at Sydney’s Luna Park on Sunday 13th September, and has been designed to allow a single point of access to a wealth of information on living sustainably both for children and their parents over one day. The Eco-Kids Festival enables the children attending the unique opportunity to gain access to the latest in green technologies, techniques and ideas and experience them first hand, whilst still enjoying an incredible day of fun and entertainment. Eco-Kids offers a vast array of sustainable initiatives which will not only be on display but will also be incorporated into every facet of the running of the event. Featured will be eco-workshops on everything from worm-farming to renewable energy, organic food stalls, recycled arts and crafts, sustainability experts to answer all of those tricky questions, interactive eco-gadgets, solar powered video games and displays, roving performers and some of Australia’s best children’s entertainment including Mic Conway, The Amazing Drumming Monkeys and Wiggles mascot Dorothy the Dinosaur plus many more. Also featured will be an amazing full-day sustainable schools expo as presented by Sustainable Schools NSW (a joint venture between the ‘Department of Environment and Climate Change’ and the ‘Department of Education and Training’). This will comprise of guest presentations by teachers and students who are involved in the greening of their local schools. A portion of the profits from this event will be given to the newly formed children’s charity Green Kids Global which has been set up to run and support sustainable projects internationally, starting with an eco-village/orphanage for children in Cambodia. www.cambodianchildrenstrust.org The Eco Kids Festival is a fantastic way for children to learn how they can be part of the growing movement towards living sustainably in a relaxed, fun and safe atmosphere.
