A month long close up of the diversity of sustainability issues, views and actions that are creating a sustainable future in WA and beyond. And a celebration of all who are beavering away at every level to create a future worth living.
Sustainable September, an annual awareness month focusing attention on sustainability in action and celebrating all who are making it happen, in community, business, education and government, anywhere!
Based in WA Sustainable September is a self-organising, not-for-profit, community-based working group and runs on the smell of an oily rag through volunteer action to create a month long festival of sustainability in action.
In September the website is alive with a calendar of talks, trainings, launches, parties, seminars, community actions, debates and dialogues, workshops and dancing, celebrating all who are working to co-create a sustainable future.
Sustainable September is co-convened by Robyn Williams from Persistence of Vision, and the WA Collaboration for Sustainability, represented by Eira Clapton and Lorilee, and Alan Carter. WA Collaboration partners: WA Council of Social Services, Council of Churches, Conservation Council WA, Unions WA and Ethnic Communities Council. Key supporters: Sustainability Practitioners Association, Australian Institute of Management WA, Murdoch and Curtin Universities, Dept Environment and Conservation, WA Local Government Association, The Greens, Sustainable WA, Shelter WA.
