The Multicultural Women's Sewing Group at Brunswick Baptist Church, with help of Eekos and The Australian Nappy Network, is holding free nappy sewing workshops every couple of months using recycled fabrics. On Dec 6th we will mainly sew fleece or wool wraps and pull up covers, but you could also sew a pocket fitted nappy. The next sessions are 28th and 31st January, as part of our Summer Sewing Sessions. You might never have used a sewing machine before, but we hope you will leave with at least one useful new nappy cover, and good memories of a fun day. Equipment, Velcro, thread, elastic and recycled fabrics are supplied, or bring your own, such as an old woollen jumper. We have the use of a snap press too. If you want to use PUL and fold-over-elastic you will need to bring those yourself. Bring your lunch. We have tea and coffee etc. Children and babies can come with you. Bring someone to help you watch them if you can, otherwise we will all take turns to watch them. Good public transport but no parking onsite. Call us if you specially need to park very close. Upfield train to Brunswick or Anstey Station Tram 19 (North Coburg) Stop 24 (Blyth St) Bus 508, get off at Sydney Rd.
