Come and join us for Lunch and a free walk, restoration and wildflower presentation over one of the most interesting covenanted orchid, lily and wildflower walks on the Gippsland Plains.

If you are interested to hear about revegetation and restoration of a bush remnant, from the man who has done the lot, or just want to see native wildflowers in their natural setting, then this is the day out for you and your family.

Activity: BYO lunch or BBQ (BBQ stove supplied) followed by Power Point Presentation of restoration, wildflowers and a walk through the covenant.

Address: the property can be found by leaving the princess highway onto the Fernbank Dargo Road. The Fernbank Dargo Road can be found approximately half way between Bairnsdale and Stratford or about 25 km from each town. Travel on the Fernbank Dargo Road for another 10km till you meet Honeysuckle Road on your left. Follow Honeysuckle Road for another 900m to find the property on your right. Then follow the TfN signs.

Description: This beautiful 70 acre covenant was purchased by the Roses several years ago and has been lovingly restored through many hours of patient work. The property contains Ecological Vegetation Classes such as the threatened Plains Grassy and Damp-sands Herb-rich Woodland along with the depleted EVC Plains Lowland Forest. These vegetation classes are excellent examples of their type with many examples of rare and threatened plant species found within them

Bring: Chairs, lunch, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, hat and suitable clothes and foot wear for a walk in the bush.
