Following successful exhibitions in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Hobart and Melbourne, the Greenpeace Australia Pacific 30th anniversary photographic exhibition 30 Years of Inspiring Action is coming to Adelaide, showing at Drill Hall, Torrens Parade Ground from Wednesday, 15 October to Sunday, 26 October 2008.
The exhibition, which features 60 images, marks the 30th anniversary of Greenpeace in Australia and captures the organisation’s inspirational history of environmental campaigning in the Australia Pacific region.
30 Years of Inspiring Action features the work of award-winning photographers who have documented the visual testimony of Greenpeace’s work in exposing global environmental problems and driving solutions for a green and peaceful future. From the original 1977 whaling campaign in Albany, Western Australia that ignited Greenpeace in Australia, to early climate change protests and anti-nuclear campaigns, Greenpeace’s past is colourful and controversial. It is a key player in the history of social and environmental activism in Australia and the Pacific.
