Design Discussion on the Challenges of Sustainability for Creative Practices with special guests:
  • Dr. Andreas Broeckmann (Visiting Art Historian and Curator)
  • Professor William Taylor (School of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts, University Of Western Australia)
  • Oron Catts (Director, Symbiotic A Collaborative Art Science Research Laboratory)
In order to make the most of the simultaneous visits of these scholars to Melbourne, the Institute will be hosting a peer discussion on creative approaches to the opportunities and challenges raised by issues
of sustainability.
The discussion will be introduced and framed by the Director of the BioSpatial Project, Pia Ednie-Brown and resident artist Boo Chapple. Pia and Boo will discuss the history of the BioSpatial Project and show some design and art based outcomes of the Project's engagement with the question of sustainability.
This will open out into a roundtable discussion aiming to explore the diversity of sustainability related practice in Melbourne and draw on the unique insights of each of the visiting scholars.
Please direct your RSVP to the Design Discussion by Tuesday 30 September to Diana Rector on 99254621 or diana.rector@rmit.edu.au
