The conference is targeted at teachers and principals in an effort to provide support in the teaching of Indigenous studies.

The conference aims to assist teachers and principals in developing a better understanding of Indigenous society and culture so as to better inculcate this knowledge in teaching Indigenous heritage and perspectives.

Additionally, the Victorian Government has recently announced their Wannik Education Strategy, a new education strategy for Koorie students, in an attempt to improve the quality of education for Koorie students.

The conference poses as a platform where key ideas from Wannik can be addressed and teachers and principals are provided appropriate resources.
