As part of a two month, 2,400 km tour along Australia’s east coast to champion renewable energy and energy efficiency as solutions climate change, the Greenpeace ship Esperanza will be in Mackay on the 26th July for a free public open day. Onboard tours of the Esperanza will be available from 10am-4pm on the day. Registration is essential. The Greenpeace Energy [R]evolution Ship Tour will be highlighting the need for urgent action on climate change. The ship has already visited Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane, and will continue north to Townsville and Cairns. The Open Boat day is a rare opportunity to get onboard Greenpeace’s biggest and fastest ship, best known for its expeditions to the Southern Ocean to confront Japan’s whaling fleet.
