The 4th Lake Bolac Eel Festival will be held on the last weekend in March, beginning with the Art Exhibition Opening on Friday evening March 28th. The main Festival day on Saturday March 29th begins with the Environmental Forum at 11 am. The Eel Festival is a gathering place for people who care for the environment and respect Aboriginal cultural heritage. This is reflected in the indigenous dancing, the environmental forum, indigenous and historical displays, and the Healing Walk held prior to the Festival, all adding up to a unique Festival experience in the Western District of Victoria. This year the community will work with Artist in Residence Ian Cuming, to make some large and unique puppets, which together with music and pyrotechnics will create the Twilight Puppet Spectacular. For a program or more information, contact David Allen on 5599 5243 or 0428 995 448 or Una Allender on 5350 4244 or 0419 891 920.
